Welcome from the WRFC Youth Section

At Warlingham RFC we run youth teams across all age groups from Under 7 to Under 18.  We have 12 teams involving approximately 400 players of all abilities.  All this is only possible because we have a wonderfully dedicated team of coaches; managers, helpers and parents, all steered in the right direction by the Club committee.

Every player who joins Warlingham is guaranteed a fantastic level of coaching as we regularly train and re-train coaches according to the RFU guidelines which stipulates all coaches must be Level 1 qualified.   As well as learning the basics of playing rugby, our players also develop many personal skills based around playing sport.  The emphasis is always on enjoying the game and this in turn improves self confidence, respect for others, team spirit and good sportsmanship.

The 2008-09 season was probably the most successful in the history of Warlingham youth rugby, with trophies and promotions for several age groups.  So this year we have our work cut out.  Karen Newman is starting her last year in the role of Mini Chairwoman and is determined to build on the excellent work done last season.  The teams under her guidance are assured of excellent leadership and will no doubt enjoy having her at the helm.

Chris Dibble is starting his second year as Junior Chairman.  Working alongside the coaches and managers he will be striving to maintain the smooth running of the Junior Section and to improve the rugby experience for all our players.

As well as the regular Sunday morning rugby sessions, the Club also involves players in festivals, tours and social events. 

Warlingham is a real “family club” and everyone can get involved at some level.  This spirit is epitomised by the army of volunteers who give up their time very week.  Their help is invaluable and the Club benefits hugely.  The organisers of the Youth Section would like to offer a huge THANK YOU to everyone who helped out last season.

Finally, to the players, we wish you every success on the pitch, but probably more importantly, we hope you enjoy your season of rugby and enjoy being part of the Warlingham family.
