Welcome to the Under 9s

Last season we had 34 registered players and a weekly average turn out of 25.  Many of our players now have two or three seasons under their belts and all are looking forward to the introduction of contact into the game for the 2010/11 season.

Although tag rugby is now no more for this age group, we will continue to aim to provide safe, active, friendly and most importantly of all, enjoyable rugby each Sunday morning.  All new families can expect to receive a warm welcome and feel part of the club in no time at all.

We have 6 dedicated coaches, most of whom are ex-players (some Warlingham 1st XV) and lots of additional parental support, with many parents having now attended the RFU’s ‘Rugby Ready’ course.  In addition to learning how to play contact rugby we will continue to focus on improving our ball handling and positioning skills, defensive strategies and most importantly of all, team spirit.

We train each Sunday from 10:00am to noon throughout the season, with scheduled matches (Home & Away) against some very friendly opposition.  We also play in tournaments which allow us to increase our competitiveness whilst giving all players the chance to compete.

We are a very friendly club and team, with all new families welcomed with a smile.
