The 2010/11 season was highly successful for Warlingham’s U9’s. They moved from tag rugby into contact with relative ease, despite the inevitable concerns early on about tackling and taking knocks. These concerns were soon allayed though and the entire squad showed real progress over the course of the season, with huge improvements seen in players skills across all levels. It was a pleasure to see everyone’s confidence levels grow over the season. The season was also a huge success at a competitive level, with six festivals entered and silverware won in four of these, a fantastic success rate. We were joint winners of the Surrey B festival, runners up in the Twickenham 7’s at the end of the season, and winners of the plate competition at both the Weybridge B and Guildfordians B festivals, having coming second after narrowly failing to win our group in both. We are lucky to have a strong squad, who are capable of achieving more in the future, but new blood is always welcome!Warlingham is a friendly club, where the emphasis is on enjoyment as much as competition and where we try to teach the kids all that is good about rugby. We still like to win though! We have a number of qualified coaches running the U10’s, aided by many parents so we are well covered. Training is every Sunday from 10am-12pm.Come and join in the fun and see what it’s all about.”David Hughes, Head Coach
